Shri Shyam Saran,(President)
Shri Shyam Saran, is a career diplomat who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1970. He has served as India's Ambassador to Myanmar, Indonesia and Nepal and as its High Commissioner to Mauritius. In his final tenure, he was Foreign Secretary to the Government of India from July 2004–September 2006. Upon completing his tenure, he was appointed the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Indo-US Civil Nuclear Issues and later as Special Envoy and Chief Negotiator on Climate Change. He was the Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board under the National Security Council till 2015. In recognition of his contribution to the civil service, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 2011. He speaks and writes regularly on a range of subjects.
Shri K. N. Shrivastava (Director)
Shri K.N. Shrivastava, was appointed Director, IIC on 1 January 2019. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1978, and was allotted the Karnataka cadre. He worked as District Magistrate of four districts, namely Tumkur, Bangalore, Belgaum and Uttar Kannada (Karwar). He has successfully managed some very important PSUs. He was CMD of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. and common Chairman of all the four Power Distribution companies of Karnataka State (2002–04). He was MD of Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd. (KBJNL) (1999–2000). He was the first MD of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) (2004–06). He was CMD of Hutti Gold Mines Co. (the only gold mining company of the country) (1994–99) for 5 years. He was Director of Bangalore Dairy (1984–86).

Shri N N Vohra
Shri N. N. Vohra, Life Trustee (and past President) of the India International Centre, joined the IAS in 1959. During his tenure till 1994, he held important positions in the Government of India, including as Defence Secretary and Home Secretary and after retirement, as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. He has long years of experience in the security management arena. After the India-China conflict, he joined the Special Services Bureau, received training with the SAS of UK, and served in the Western Himalaya theatre. Later, he served as Home Secretary Punjab. He served as Governor of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir from 2008–18. He has authored and has edited over a dozen books. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India for his contribution to the civil service in 2007.
Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi
Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi, Life Trustee IIC, is a former administrator and diplomat who served as the 22nd Governor of West Bengal, from 2004 to 2009. He has served as Secretary to the President of India, as Director of the Nehru Centre in the High Commission of India, London; as High Commissioner for India in South Africa and Lesotho, High Commissioner for India in Sri Lanka, and Ambassador of India in Norway and Iceland. He has authored and edited many books, including several works on his paternal grandfather Mahatma Gandhi. He is presently Distinguished Professor of History and Politics at Ashoka University.
Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath
Dr. Meenakshi Gopinath, Life Trustee IIC, is currently Founder and Director of WISCOMP (Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace). She is also Chair, Board of Governors, Centre for Policy Research, and Principal Emerita of Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, where she served as Principal for 26 years. She has been a member of the University Grants Commission, India. Dr. Gopinath was the first woman to be nominated to the National Security Advisory Board of India. She is a member of multi-track peace initiatives and people-to-people dialogues in South Asia. She has authored many books and is the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of her contribution to the field of women’s education and empowerment. The Government of India awarded her the Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian education in 2007
Dr. Shailesh Nayak
Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Life Trustee IIC, is an Indian scientist and is currently Director of the National Institute of Advanced Studies Bengaluru, from 2018. He is the former Chancellor of TERI School of Advanced Studies (2019¬–2025) and Distinguished Scientist in the Ministry of Earth Sciences. He was the Earth System Science Organization (ESSO) Chair and Secretary to the Government of India for Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) (August 2008–2015). He was the Chairman of the Earth Commission in India. He served as the interim chairman of ISRO between 31 December 2014 and 11 January 2015. He has served as Director of the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services, INCOIS, Hyderabad (May 2006 to July 2008). He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contributions in science and engineering in 2024

Shri Ashwajit Singh is the Founder and Managing Director of IPE Global, a leading social and development sector advisory firm working in 100+ countries. He has over 30 years of global experience in policy, institution building, management and the social sector. A Chartered Accountant (AF Ferguson) and Company Secretary, he is an accomplished professional. An alumnus of Modern School, he graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce and pursued post-graduation from the London School of Economics (Inlaks Scholar) and Harvard Business School (OPM). He has spearheaded impactful projects like Smart Cities, Lakshadweep's holistic tourism development, strengthening health systems including maternal and child health programmes and youth-skilling initiatives. He has led programmes for women and girls, empowering 1.06 million learners in Odisha and Africa. IPE has completed 1200+ assignments in Sustainable Development Goals, impacting 600+ million lives.
Prof. Dr. Mahesh Verma
Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma is Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi (State University). He was instrumental in setting up Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi and rose to become its Dean. He is a Former Chairman of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NAΒΗ). For distinguished services to the medical profession, he was conferred the Dr. B. C. Roy Award (2007), Padma Shri (2014) and National Science and Technology Award (2020) by the President of India. He is a recipient of the ‘State Award’ (2001) by Govt. of Delhi and Highest State Award by Govt. of Himachal Pradesh (2023). He is an FRCS (England), FRCSP (Glasgow) and FRCS (Edinburgh). He is the only Indian Professional to be elected as Member Science Committee of Federation Dentaire International (Geneva).

Shri Kanwal Wali (Secretary)
Air Commodore Kanwal Wali (Retd.) has had a distinguished career in the Indian Air Force (IAF), serving for over three decades in various key staff and operational appointments. After retirement from the IAF in March 2018, he took over the role of Secretary, IIC, in December 2018. In this capacity, he has been pivotal in organising and facilitating numerous cultural and intellectual events, fostering dialogue and understanding across diverse fields at IIC. He has significantly contributed in making IIC a hub of cultural exchange and intellectual discourse, thereby upholding the legacy of IIC as a premier institution of India.
