Membership
The Centre has around 8,000 Members including Institutional Members drawn from across India and abroad. Membership is given to individuals of all nationalities who have made significant achievements in various fields. It is also given to institutions such as universities, national organisations, as well as institutions aligned with the aims and objectives of the Centre. Foreigners and Indian nationals abroad are considered for admission as Overseas Associate Members. Membership is also available to select overseas institutions.
Applications for Short Term Associate Membership (STAM) for three years are invited in the prescribed form. These applications are examined by a STAM Selection Committee, which then makes recommendations to the President for enrolment. The list of applicants who are approved for STAM are displayed on the IIC website. The STAM Members who complete the residency period of 3 years, are considered for extension of their membership for a further period of 2 years after assessing their contribution to the activities of the Centre.
The STAMs who complete the residency period of 5 years (3+2), are considered for regular membership by The Admission Committee (TAC). A Committee comprising Director and Secretary, after assessing the contributions of the eligible STAMs to the activities of the Centre, recommends them for regular Membership to TAC, which meets once in a year. The yearly enrolment of the STAMs is restricted to the available vacancies which have arisen in the previous year due to passing away or resignation of the Members.
Admission fees and annual subscription payable by different categories of the Members, are decided by the Board of Trustees of the IIC from time to time. Click here for details.
