Winged Guardians of Our Mountainscapes

Illustrated lecture by Dr. Susan Sharma, founder Indian Wildlife Club

Using the term winged guardian to refer to mountain pheasants, a species to which the peacock belongs, the talk will highlight the importance of pheasants as indicator species for the health of our mountains. The hills and valleys of the Himalayan ranges are the only areas left in the world where these exotic birds still exist in their natural surroundings
