Migration is an inescapable reality of the history of civilization. In the context of the contemporary European refugee crisis, the talks will examine who the people arriving on Europe’s shores are, and whether they are refugees or migrants. The discussants will confront questions about the current crisis and whether basic concepts of nationality, citizenship, rights or even – the nation state need to be revisited. Where should Europe look when seeking answers to these pressing questions?
