Excavations at Khirsara, a small village in Kachch district of Gujarat, have yielded rich cultural debris belonging to the mature Harappan phase. A well planned double fortification with  mud mortar plastered walls, corner bastions at regular intervals with a citadel in the south, residential complex in the north, ware house and partially exposed factory area in the centre
